Cobra Paw

Ninja-like know how steals the game 2 – 6 players ages 6 and up

Cobra Paw is the game for you if you like the card game Spoons. It is a game of speed, observation and quick paw activity.

Set Up

To set up Cobra Paw, you place all of the Clawfuku stones (tiles) in the middle of the playing area, face up where everyone can see, and reach, them.

Playing Cobra Paw

To play, the first player rolls the two dice. Next, players race to find the stone with the matching symbols on the dice. Once the stone is spotted, a player must be the first to snatch it and place it in front of him.

The catch is that it is considered rude to use your whole paw (hand) to snatch a stone. Correct etiquette is to use one finger to draw the stone towards you.

The stones in front of a player are not theirs to keep. When the two symbols on a stone that a player has already snagged are rolled, then any other player may snatch it away. To keep the stone, the player needs to be the first to spot the match and place a finger on the stone.

What We Like

First, here at Family Game Shelf we love speed observation games. Cobra Paw is a perfect fit for us. We like that it is easy to learn and easy to play. We also love the competitive nature of stealing a stone from another player.

Next, the quality of the game is really good. The dice are large size, making them fun and different.

We also like that the dice and tiles have symbols of different shapes and colours, making it different from other games.

What We Don’t Like

First, the box is an octagon. That makes it hard to store. It’s also a little big for the game pieces. That said, the box is sturdy.

Next, we can’t decide if the black background of the stones and the dice are really cool or hard to see.

Conclusion

Cobra Paw is a game for people who love fast action, sharp awareness and stealing. If you have ninja like moves we recommend adding Cobra Paw to your Family Game Shelf.

Ninjas can snatch their copy of Cobra Paw here. Canadians can ninja their Cobra Paw here.
