The Big Chief Dice game is pure silliness. But who doesn’t like a game that’s based completely on luck and one where you can’t even see your own dice?
If this sounds a little familiar, that’s because Big Chief is similar to one of our favorite card games—Blind Poker. And just like Blind Poker, Big Chief is great for groups. And speaking of fun with groups, we think that Big Chief is a great fit for our Luau Games.
I should note that this game also goes by the name of Indian Chief.
Let’s get in the rules, how to play and how to win Big Chief dice!

What You Need
All you need for this game is one dice per player and a room without reflective surfaces. For example, is there are windows, pull the curtains. You don’t want any player to gain an unfair advantage by being able to see their die.
How to Play Big Chief
To start, pick someone to be the first player. (A high dice roll is always a good option for picking.)
All players play at the same time. Everyone rolls their die and without looking at it raises it to their foreheads. After everyone has a chance to see everyone else’s dice, the first player must call out a guess as to what the sum of all the dice, including his own, is. The player to his left now has to call out a number that is larger than the number already called or call or challenge.

If she has called out a number then the player to her right calls out a number higher than the one she said or calls out a challenge.
After calling out a challenge, everyone lowers their die. Next, all the dice are added up. If the sum is higher than the last number called out then the player who issued the challenge is eliminated. On the other hand, if the sum is equal or less than the number called out, then the player to last call a number is eliminated.
For the second round, the player to the eliminated player’s left is the first player. Again, all players roll their die and bring it to their foreheads and the process starts again.

Winning Big Chief Dice Game
To be the winner of the game, you need to be the last player in the game.
The Big Chief Wins
In fact, all players win when they play this fast, fun and silly game. And you will feel silly holding a die to your head but the laughter is worth it.
