What to do when there’s a snow storm outside? Play Blizzard Dice game of course.
There are three things that have to happen before a snow storm is considered a blizzard. First, it has to snow for at least three hours in a row. Next, there has to be a large amount of snow that has fallen. And last, there has to be winds that are at least 56km an hour.
The Blizzard dice game takes this into account and has three parts with different goals. I created this game at the same time as the dice game Snowball. They both would be good additions to our Winter Carnival dice games. But let’s get into Blizzard.

What you Need for Blizzard
You will need five dice and something to keep score with.
Playing Blizzard Dice Game
The first leg of the game covers the three hour time limit. For this leg, players roll all five dice and try to get all the dice to be the same number. Players have three rolls per round.
If the player matches all five dice, then he scores 50 points. For four matching dice, he scores 40 points. Three matching is 30 points, two is 20 points. And you will get 10 points if you don‘t get any matches.

There are three rounds to the first leg of Blizzard Dice. At the end of the three turns, players will add their scores up and get ready for the next round.
The next leg of Blizzard covers the amount of snow that falls. For this round, players have three rolls to score as many points as possible. At the end of the three rolls, you add all the dice together for the score of the round. This score is then added to the total from the first leg of the game.

The last leg of Blizzard covers the wind strength. For this round, players have three rolls to get their dice in a sequence. The sequence starts at 1 and continues to 5, but the players must roll the numbers in order. For example, if you roll a 2, 3, 5, 6, on the first roll you need to roll all the dice again as you haven’t rolled a one. Player may use more than one dice from a roll, as long as they are in order. For example, if you roll a 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 then you may keep the 1, 2, and 3 and roll again to try and get the 4.
For each dice in the sequence, a player scores 10 points.

Winning Blizzard Dice Game
At the end of the three legs of the game, the scores from all rounds are added together. The player with the most points wins the title of Best Blizzard.
