The board game about the brands you love! 2 to 4 players ages 12 and up
Here’s a fun fact about me: I graduated from the Creative Advertising program in college. It was after I had graduated that The Logo Game came out. I wanted to play it then but knew that my friends wouldn’t want to play with me with my unfair advantage. Years later, on the week of my birthday, I saw it in a second hand store for only $2.00. It was fate and I brought it home with me.
The Logo Game is different from other trivia games like Beat the Parents, I Should Have Known That and Anomia as it’s trivia that you know without knowing you know. If you watch TV, read magazines and see print ads where ever you go, then you’ve seen the answers to a lot of these questions.
Object of The Logo Game
The object is to reach the finish line by answering trivia questions about common brands.
The Logo Game Cards
There are three types of cards in The Logo Game. First, there are the themed cards. The theme is printed on the front of the card and all the questions on the card have a common theme such as “Can Colors” or “Ice cream.”
Next are the potluck cards. These cards have an assortment of questions.
The third type of card is the picture cards. These cards have a logo brand on the front and all the questions on the card will be about that brand. Goldfish crackers is one of the picture cards.

How to Play The Logo Game
To start, choose a player to be the question master. This is the player who will read all of the questions for the round. The first player on the left is the first player to answer questions. The questions are read in order on the card. The purple questions are the easiest and are the first to be read.
If the player correctly answers the question, then he moves his token to the next purple square on the board. He then is asked the next, green question on the card. This continues until he either answers incorrectly or advances to the red square.
On the other hand, if he answers incorrectly, the question master then asks the player to the left of the first player the same question. If she answers correctly then she moves to the next square of that color (in this example the next green square) and the question master will continue to ask her questions on the card.
If she answers incorrectly, the question master asks the player on her left. This continues until someone either answers correctly or the question mater runs out of players to ask and reads the answer. When this happens, the question master asks the next question on the card to the original player.
Once all of the questions on the card have been read the round is over.
The roll of question mater is then moved to the left and play continues.

Winning The Logo Game
To win, a player needs to enter the winning zone and the end of the game board. Next, that player needs to answer either two consecutive questions correctly or answer a red question correctly.
Team Play
The Logo Game can be played in teams. The play is the same with a few changes. The question master needs to be on the non-turn team. The question master must hide the card from his own team too. If the team whose turn it is answers incorrectly, then his own team has a chance to answer. If they answer correctly the team mover is move to the corresponding space on the board. Next, the question master asks the original team the next question on the card. This continues until either one team wins or both teams are in the winning zone.
If both teams are in the winning zone and the first team answers incorrectly, the second team has a chance to answer. If they answer correctly, the question master then asks that team the next question.
As in the single player version, teams need to answer either two consecutive answers or a red question to win.
What We Like
With 400 questions, there is a good variety of questions. Next, the quality of the game is good. We also like the steal of questions method. (How many times have you thought “I know the answer” and can’t do anything about it but brag?) Lastly, we like the board itself. The board is a circle. When was the last time you saw an actual circular game board, not just a circle printed on a square or rectangle board? We thought it was cool.
What We Don’t Like
First, this game has the potential to be out dated. We didn’t find that it was with many brands still having the same logo and slogans. Second, it is an American game. Not a problem if you’re American but as a Canadian family we found that we hadn’t heard of some of the brands. What is Orangina? Or the ice cream brand Carvel?
Next, the kids had a hard time with this game as they were unfamiliar with many of the brands even us Canadians should know. However, my oldest daughter was thrilled when she could correctly answer what the Goldfish crackers slogan was (and I couldn’t). We found that it was best to play in teams to offset this problem.
Conclusion
The Logo Game is a different type of trivia game–one that is easier to play than a lot of trivia games as we are surrounded by brands and advertising. For the adults in the family I would recommend The Logo Game, however, the kids might not enjoy adding The Logo Game to your family game shelf.
There is a new updated version of The Logo Game that looks good. To test your knowledge of brands get your copy of the The Logo Game here. Canadians can shop for The Logo Game here. The Logo Game is a Playmonster game.
