Ladder of Success Graduation Game

This is an easy game that can be played even by the youngest graduates, with a little addition help. You will need three dice, a mover per player and a paper with the numbers 1 to 12 on it. You can get our free Ladder of Success game board in our Fun Library.

To play, you roll all three dice. To start you need to roll a one or a combination of dice that adds up to one (in this case two ones). If you rolled a one, then you move onto the one spot. Also, if you have rolled a two (or dice that add up to two) then you move onto the two spot. Dice can’t be used more than once per turn. So, if you’ve rolled a 1 2 2 you can use the 1 and the 2 but you can’t reuse the 1 to add to three.

When a player has rolled and moved, she gets to reroll the dice and try to move again. On the other hand, if she wasn’t able to move with the dice roll, her turn is over.

The winner is the player who is the first to climb the ladder and roll a combination that adds up to 12.

When they add up to 22 they call out Class of 22, winning the game. On the other hand, if their roll has them going over 22, they start again at 0.

Alternate play could be to keep track of how many rolls it took each player to get to 22. This could make is easier for the younger grads to play.

Of course, if this is past 2022, then the number changes to the class of 23 or 24. The rules are the same just change the number.

When the player is correct and the graduate is wrong, the player gets a point and moves on to the next question. On the other hand, if the player is wrong, there is no points and his turn is over and the next player goes head to head with the graduate. When the player is wrong and the graduate is correct, she gets to do a victory dance. You could also keep track of how many points the graduate gets and compare to the others as a team. When both are correct, then there is no points awarded.
