The dice game Piñata Dice Race is so fun it’s a party all on it’s own. It’s also just one of the dice games that we created just for you. (If you’re curious about the others see Monkey Dice, Whacky Putt dice mini golf and Volcano to start.)

In this game, you are racing to be the first player to fill your piñata with all the best candy for the Cenquo de Mayo celebrations but be careful, the party dice are waiting to distract you!

What You Need for Piñata Dice Race

You will need five standard dice and a score sheet.

How to Play Piñata Dice Race

To start, the first player rolls all five dice. Any 5s are party dice and need to be set aside and do not score. All other dice count as one point. If a player gets three 5s, the score is zero and play moves on to the next player.

This player has a score of 4 with one dice set aside

Now, a player can choose to stop and take the points or she can choose to reroll all dice that are still in play. Again, all dice that are not 5s count as a point. However, all new 5s are set aside and if there are three or more 5s that player will score nothing for the round.

When a player either rolls three or more 5s or chooses to take her score, play then moves to the player on her left. Now, this player gets to roll all five dice and play as before.
