Who doesn’t love a good game of Mini Golf? We sure do, but if it’s rainy, or snowy (as it is here a lot of the year) then the fun comes to an end. But we have created a fun dice game that keeps the fun going all year round: Whacky Putt.
As you may know, we love dice games here at Family Game Shelf. We’ve created several of them including Volcano, Three Strikes and Save the Turtles. But Wacky Putt might just be our best game yet!
Whacky Putt brings all the fun and cutness of a mini golf course right to your gaming table and players of all ages will love playing.
So, lets get into the rules and how to play.
What We Need for Whacky Putt Mini Golf Dice Game
First, you will need five dice. To make it extra special, you could have everyone have their own set of dice in their favorite colours, not needed but it does add to the mini golf feel. Next, you need the Whacky Putt cards and core sheet that you can get in our shop.
The Whacky Putt Cards
Each card has a unique theme. In that theme, there is a unique action that players need to preform. This can be anyting from having to say certain words or standing on one leg or even siging Happy Birthday. Each card also has a unique goal that players are rolling for. It can be to roll just one kind of number, numbers that add up to a different number or even to roll awaything but one number.
Some of the themes include pirate, puddles, bunnies, snails, and even a wishing well.
Playing Whacky Putt Mini Golf Dice Game
There are 18 hole cards to play. Player can diced if they would like to play just nine holes or the full eighteen holes. When playing, you can either flip over cards one at a time for a surprise order or you can pick and choose which holes to play. As in real mini golf, everyone has their favorite holes.
When a card is flipped over, one player reads the instructions out loud. One player will them take the dice and perfeor the action for the hole. Next, he will roll the dice and try to roll the goal of the card.
The number of turns it take to acceieve the gaol is how many strokes the player took and is the score for that hole.
After all players have played and scored the hole, the next card is flipped over and read.
Penalty
When a player fails to do the action of the hole, she will face a penalty of one stroke. Therefore, it will cost you to forget or refuse to do the fun actions.
Winning Whacky Putt
We feel that if you’re having fun—and you will—that everyone is the winner. Of course, for the more competivite group, the winner of the game is the palyer with the lowest stroke score after either 9 or 18 holes.
Alternative Play
To make it easier for kids to play, or anyone who doesn’t want to add up all those numbers, we have a different way to play. At the end of each hole, the player with the lowest strike score gets to keep the card. The player with the most cards at the end wins the game. If there are a lot of ties, other items like bingo chips can be used to keep track of winning holes.
