Ah Easter, the time to hide special treats and play hide and seek. However, there is no hiding how much fun and excitement there is in Easter Whacky Putt. All the cuteness of Easter, all the fun of mini golf and all the excitement of dice—all in one game.
Easter Whacky Putt is the latest seasonal cards to add to the original Whacky Putt. There are Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day and St Patrick’s Day. They were all so popular that we had to make Easter cards.
Let’s hop into how to play and see what delights are in store.
What You Need for Easter Putt Whacky Putt
First, you will need the Easter Whacky Putt cards. You can get them here in our Family Game Shelf Shop.
Second, you will need five standard dice. We like to play that everyone has five dice in their own colour—just like in mini golf. You can get lots of coloured dice here.
Next, you will need a scoresheet and a pen. The scoresheet comes with the cards.
Last, you will need to be able to laugh and do and say silly things.
Setting Up Easter Whacky Putt
After you have printed and cut out the cards it’s time to play.
There are two different ways to set up the Easter Whacky Putt. First, you can shuffle the cards and place them faced down on the table and turn them over one at a time. Doing this keeps the excitement going and adds a little surprise.
Second, you can read all the cards and put them in the order that you would like to play them. You could also let players take turns choosing what card to play next.
There is one other way to play. You can mix in any of the cards form the original game or any of the other seasonal games.

Playing Easter Whacky Putt
Once you have decided what cards to play or have them in a pile of surprises, it’s time to play. First, decide who goes first (a high dice roll is always a quick way to pick).
The first player reads the card’s instructions and then follows the action. The actions are all unique to each card. Some actions are to make certain sounds, say certain phrase, act out something or even sign. Some example actions are to pretend to crack an egg, quack like a duck and sing a line from Baa Baa Black Sheep.
After doing the action, the play then rolls all five of her dice. She is trying to reach the goal that is on the card. Just like the actions, the goals are unique to each card. Some example goals are four 2s, a straight, a full house and four of a number you choose.
Just like in mini golf, the object of each hole or card is to reach the goal in as few strokes as possible. Each time a player rolls her dice, it counts as a stroke.

After her first roll, the player will set aside any dice that match her goal. She then rolls all of the other dice trying to get more dice to match her goal.
As she plays, she needs to keep track of how many rolls it takes her to reach the goal. It’s usually a good idea for the other players to keep track as it can be challenging to roll and keep track. You wouldn’t think but you get swept up in the excitement and sometimes frustration.
However many rolls it took her to reach the goal, that is her score. The scorekeeper marks down the number and it’s the next players turn to play that hole.
No Action Penalty
Occasionally, there will be a player who either forgets to do the action or refuses. When this happens, they are given a one stroke penalty. Of course it is a friendly game, so you can be lenient if you’d like.
9 or 18 Holes
The scorecard has space for a 9 hole game and an 18 hole game. When playing the 9 hole, you will play each hole one time. When playing the 18 hole game, you will either play each hole twice or you can add in other cards from other Whacky Putt games.

Winning Easter Whacky Putt
When all the holes have been played, the scorekeeper will add up the totals. The player with the lowest stroke score is the winner.
Hop To It
Easter Whacky Putt is full of fun and excitement. It’s prefect for family game night in the spring. Your kids will want to play again and again. You’ll want to too as there is nothing better than laughing and being together, making memories that will last a life time.
