Spring will soon be here and we thought we’d show you how to play the Thunderstorm Dice game today to celebrate. We’re very ready to exchange snow storms for thunder storms!
This game is easy to learn and fast to play. It joins our other weather games like Blizzard, Snowball and Stuck in the Mud.
Let’s get to how to play and the game rule changes that we found.

What You Need for the Thunderstorm Dice Game
You will need six dice and some paper and pen to keep score. If you need some new dice (we love playing where everyone gets their own dice in their favorite colour) shop here; Canadians here. To make scoring extra fun, we created an easy to use score sheet that you can get for free in the Fun Library. (You can get your password by clicking in the black box below.)
Playing Thunderstorm
First, you will have to decide on who goes first. We like to make this a high dice roll. Once you have decided on who will start, she will take all six dice and roll them. She will then take out any dice showing a 1 and set them over to the side. Now she will pass any remaining dice to the player on her left.
This player will now roll all of the dice that were passed to him. Again, he will pull out any dice that show a 1 and set them aside. Just like the first player, he will then pass all remaining dice to the player on his left who will roll and pull out any 1s.

When a player rolls and does not roll a one, this person then gets her first line in building her house. The house building starts with a line for the foundation of the house.

The next line is a vertical wall followed by the second wall. Next the top of the house is drawn followed by two lines to make the roof. Once you have your house drawn on the next turn that you don’t roll a 6, your house will be hit by lightning.
When the player before you fails to roll a 1, all the dice are then given to you, no matter how many dice he had to roll.
Lightning
When a player’s house has been hit by lightning, he is out of the game. Play continues, skipping over the player who is out.

Winning Thunderstorm Dice
To win the Thunderstorm dice game, you will have to be the last player without a hit house.

Thunderstorm Dice Variations
The only game variation we found was the starting mark one. As it is easier to roll a 1 with all six dice, any player who rolls all six dice receives a mark. When a player receives four marks, she will have to skip her turn and draw a line on her house.
All Cracked Up
