What You Need for Macao Dice Game
You will need just one dice and chips or other markers. If you need more dice, you can shop dice here; Canadians here.
How to Play Macao
First, you need to decide who will be the first player to roll. That player will now roll the dice. She can choose to keep that score or re-roll the dice and add to her score. She can then choose to keep that score or roll again and again add to her score. If her total is more than 9, her turn is over and she is out of that round.

When her turn is over, the next player gets to roll the dice. Again, he can choose to keep the score or roll again to add to his score. He can choose to stop at any time and keep his score. On the other hand, if he rolls more points than 9, he busts and is out of the round.
When all players have had a turn to roll, the player with the score closes to 9 without going over gets a chip.
Now, the second round starts. The player to the left of the player who started the first rounds gets to roll first. The play is the same for the second and all remaining rounds.

Ties
When two players have the highest score for a round, they do a playoff round to decide who gets the chip.

Wining Macao Dice Game
The first player to earn three chips is the winner.

Macao Dice Variations
Stakes
The first Macao game variation is to play for stakes. In this game, everyone needs to place a chip (or more if agreed on) into the middle before playing. The player who wins the round gets all the chips in the middle.
Dangerous Strakes
This game is played the same with one difference. When a player busts, they need to put a chip in the middle. Again, the player who wins the round gets all the chips.
Instant Win Macao
In this variation, when a player rolls exactly 9, then she instantly wins the round.
Over 12 is Dead
In this game, you play the same as before except that instead of aiming for 9, players are trying to get to 12 without going over. In another variation of this game, the rules say that you must roll at least three times before you can stop. This variation is also called Quinze.
Fifteen
Similarly, this game is played the same but with an aim of 15 instead of 9 or 12.
Pontoon or 21
