How to Play Mafia Dice

Mafia dice is similar to other dice games such as Stuck in the Mud, Pig and Ohio in that they are all luck games. However, in Mafia Dice it isn’t just your luck that impacts your turn. It is a fast pace game that any number of players in all ages can play.

Players who like the dice games LCR and Volcano as well as the card game Spoons will enjoy Mafia Dice.

What you Need

You will need five dice per player and a pen and paper to keep score. If you need some new dice, shop here. Canadians can shop dice here.

Playing Mafia Dice

The first player rolls all five of her dice. Any 1s that showing are set to the side. Any 6s that are showing are passed to the player on her left.

The play then moves to the player on her left.

Now, that player will roll all of the dice he has—his original five dice and any that have been passed to him. Again, any 1s are set aside and 6s are passed to the player on his left.

The game continues in this manner until a player has no more dice to roll. At this point, all other players get a M written under their names.

Next, players start over again with five dice each. The player to the left of the player who went out is the first player in this round.

Players continue to play, either winning or collecting the letters M A F I A.

Ending a Mafia Dice Game

The game is over when one player has all the letters in MAFIA. The player with the least letters is the winner.

Mafia Dice Game Variations

Chips Mafia

In this variation of Mafia Dice, players receive five dice and five poker or bingo chips. The play is the same however, instead of collecting letters, players loose chips. When a player goes out, all other players pay her a chip. The game is over when a player is out of chips. The winner is the player with the most chips.

Mafia Elimination

You play this Mafia dice game the same as the chips one. The difference is that when one plyer loses all of his chips, then he is out and the game continues. The winner is the player who wins all of the chips.

A Mob of Fun

The ups and downs of mafia Dice will have your family laughing and groaning as they gain and lose dice. Get ready to have a great time will anyone who dares play this game.
