The Golf Dice game is simple but fun. The rules have you only needing to be able to recognize doubles, something like the dice game Fifty. It’s not a speed game like Fifty. Instead, it’s a relaxed game like Beat That or the co-operative dice game Ants. It’s a must try for anyone who likes the card game Golf.

What You Need
You will need three dice and a score sheet. You can get a free Golf Dice Score sheet in our Fun Library. You can get your password in the black box below. Our score sheet is good for up to six players, but you can play with as many players as you’d like.
How To Play Golf Dice
First, all players roll one die. The player with the highest roll gets to go first.
On your turn, roll all three dice. When doubles are rolled, stop and score. When doubles are not rolled, re-roll all the dice until you roll a set of any doubles.
Your score is the number of rolls it took you to roll a set of doubles. For example, if you rolled double 3s on your first roll, your score is 1. On the other hand, if it took you eight rolls to get a set of doubles your score is 8.

Once doubles have been rolled and the score is noted, the dice are passed to the next player who will try to get doubles in as few rolls as possible.
There are 18 holes in Golf so in Golf Dice there are 18 rounds too. Of course, if you wanted to play a shorter game, you could just play the front round and only play nine holes or rounds.

Winning Golf Dice Game
The player who has the lowest score at the end of 18 rounds is the winner.

Golf Dice Game Variation
The Birdie Rule
When a player rolls three of a kind, they have a Birdie and they score one less rolls that they took. For example if on your second roll you rolled three of a kind then you would score one for that round.
The Eagle Rule
When a player rolls three of a kind on their first roll, they score ,minus two for that round. The score for that round would be minus one and the overall score would be one less than it was before.
The 18th Hole
The dice game Gold is indeed a simple game that the whole family will love. Even the youngest players can play as they only need to be able to see dice that match. And better yet, the score keeping is simple and only needs small number math. For your next family game night, try out a round of Golf Dice and get ready for fun and laughs.
