Mini golf is a game that everybody loves. Dice games are something we love. Throw in a little Valentine’s’ Day and you get Whacky Putt Valentine’s Day edition!

What You Need for Valentine’s Day Whacky Putt
You will need 5 standard dice and the Valentine’s Day Whacky Putt cards. We like to play with red dice to add festive fun. You could also use dice that have hearts for pips. You will also need a score card that comes with the game.
Setting Up the Game
There are two ways to play this fun dice game. First, you can pick which order to play the cards in. Second, you can shuffle the cards and place them face down in a pile and be surprised as you turn each card over.
Also, you can play just the Valentine’s holes or you can mix in the original holes. Of course, you can add in any of your favorite holes form other editions too if you don’t mind a festive mix. For this post, we’ll stick to the Valentin’s Day Whacky Putt cards.
Next, you will put the players name on the top of the score card.
Just like in live action mini golf, you can either play 9 holes or 18 holes. To play the 18 holes, you will play each hole twice.
Last, you need to decide who will roll first. This can do done in any way but our favorite is for each player to roll a die and the high number goes first.
Playing Valentine’s Day Whacky Putt
To start, the first player flips over the first card. She then reads the card out for everyone to read.
Each card has a unique action and goal to it. The actions range from singing, saying certain phrases and performing actions. The goals are what you are rolling the dice to get.
After reading the card, she will perform the action according to the card. She will then roll the dice, trying to get the right numbers on the dice to match the goal on the card. Dice that match the goal are set aside and the rest of the dice are rerolled. She continues this, making sure to keep track of how many rolls she does, until she has the right numbers showing. Her score is the amount of rolls she took to reach the goal.
After marking her score down, the dice are passed to the next player. He now has to perform the same action and rolls the dice to try to match the goal. Again, his score is the number of rolls he takes to reach the goal.
When all players have had a turn to play the hole, the second card is flipped over. Again, the card is read out loud announcing its action and goal.
As before, the players are trying to reach the goal in as few rolls as possible.
No Action Penalty
When a player does not do the action on the card before or during rolling, she receives a one stroke penalty. This penalty can be earned on every hole so it’s important that players pay attention.
Winning Valentine’s Day Whacky Putt
After every player has finished the last hole, all the scores are added up. The player with the lowest score wins.
