St Patrick’s Day is one to celebrate, have fun and show you’re Irish (even if you’re not). Everyone’s always in a good mood on this day because it’s a day for parties! If you’re looking for a fun, safe way to get your Green on, then St Patrick’s Day Whacky Putt is for you.

Whacky Putt is one of our most favorite dice games that we’ve created. It’s a hoot so it only seemed natural to create 9 new holes that are all about leprechauns, rainbows and all things Irish. You can check out the original game here and see our Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Halloween holes too if you’ve missed them.

Indoor Mini Golf

But first, if you’re new here then you might be asking what is Whacky Putt. The original Whacky Putt is 18 holes of mini golf that you play with dice. You can read the post about the original ones here. We were inspired to bring all the fun of mini golf inside, after all you can only play mini golf when the weather is nice, and when the place is open, and when you have time.

Playing St Patrick’s Day Whacky Putt

There are two ways to play. First, you can shuffle the cards and place them facedown and turn one over at a time to make it exciting. Second, you can choose the order in which you play the holes.

You can play either 9 homes or 18 holes. To play 18, you would play each hole twice. Or you can play with 9 of the original Whacky Putt holes mixed in. (You could add in any favorites from the other holidays too if you’d like.)

The St Patrick’s Day holes feature all things Irish. There is a leprechaun hole, a Shamrock and 4 leaf clover holes. There’s an Irish jig hole and some Irish sayings holes. And we couldn’t forget a rainbow and luck 7s hole either.

Each card has a fun Irish action to do before or during rolling. You might have to move in a certain way, say a certain something or act a certain Irish way.

Then you need to roll the dice to match the goal with the card. You might have to roll four of a certain number or roll a specified line or combination of numbers.

For each roll that it takes you to accomplish the goal, it counts as one stroke, just like in mini golf. So if it takes you five rolls to get four dice all with the number 3 then your stroke count for the hole would be 5.
