The Crazy Fish card game is a hilarious one that players of all ages can play but the younger kids will adore. There will be hours of fun with this one. I created it for a Girl Guide meeting that had an ocean theme. I was playing with the older girls (teenagers) and didn’t except them to LOVE this game, but it as an instant hit.
It also joins our growing list of animal themed games: Frogs in the Pond, Monkey Dice, Zebra Races and Shark Dice, just to name a few.

What you Need for the Crazy Fish Card Game
You will need a deck of cards, with the jokers removed. You could also have “cheat” sheets with the actions for each player, see below for what actions to be on them.
How to Play Crazy Fish
To start, deal all of the cards out in face down piles. It is okay if some players have more cards than others.
The first player flips over her card and puts it in the middle. It is important that the flip is quick and the player does not see it before others. To do this it is best to flip the card away from the player instead of the towards flip.
Now if the card is not one of the special cards, nothing happens and the next player flips over a card and puts it in the middle (again with a fast flip.) If the card is a special card, then all players race to make the action of the card. The last player to do the correct action has to take the middle stack of cards and adds them to the bottom of her card stack. She then gets to flip over a card.

The Special Cards
Ace – the shark – player will put their hands over their heads like a shark fin.
King – the star fish – spread your finger out like a star
Queen – the turtle – move your hands like you’re a gliding turtle
Jack – the dolphin – arch your hand through the air like a jumping dolphin

Winning Crazy Fish
The first player to shed all of her cards is the winner. Alternatively, you can play for a certain amount of time and then count the cards each player has and the player with the least amount of cards wins.
Usually, just playing is enough fun that a winner isn’t needed.
Laugh Out Loud Fun For All
As I mentioned at the start of this post, kids of all ages—even teenagers—will love Crazy Fish. It’s simple but complicated and a laugh-a-minute as you try to see the card, remember the action and do the right action before everyone else.
