What you Need for Candy Cane Card Game
You will need one deck of cards, a candy cane for each player, and a score sheet.
First, take one candy cane and place it one the side. Place the rest of the candy canes in the middle of the playing table.
Next, pull out a set of numbers for each player. For example, if you have four players you would pull out the four Aces, the four 2s, the four 3s, the fours 4s. The numbers are not important. You can use the 10s or the Kings or any of the other numbers.
Last, shuffle the sets together so they mix really well. The rest of the deck can be set aside as you won’t need them.
Playing Candy Cane Card Game
Start by deciding who is going to be the dealer. This position can change each round.
Next, the dealer passes out all of the cards, face down so that each player has four cards. When all the cards are dealt, players can pick theirs up.
Players then decide what set they want to try to collect. This can change in the middle of the round if they like. When the dealer is ready, he may say, “Canes up.” This is when the fun starts.

Each player chooses one card to pass to the player on their left. At the same time, they get a card from the player on their right. After looking at the new card, they decide what card to pass left. The speed is quite fast so decisions need to be quick.
When a player has collected four of one kind, she will pick up a candy cane from the middle. She can do this quietly or with great show, it’s up to her. Next, all other players have to race to pick up a candy canes too.

The player who does not get a candy cane, loses the round and receives a C under his name.

Round Two
Place the candy canes back in the middle of the table and shuffle the cards. The second round is played the same, with players keeping an eye on the candy canes as well as their cards.
The player who doesn’t get a candy cane gets a letter—either a C or if it is the same player as in the first round an A.
Winning Candy Cane Card Game
Rounds are played the same way with the loser collecting a letter on his or her name until one player gets all the letters that spell CANDYCANE. That player is the loser of the game.
