The card game Giveaway is a fast paced game where players try to be the first to get rid of their cards. It has a similar feel to Go Boom, Rolling Stone and Linger Longer.
Giveaway is an easy to learn game that is great for two or more players starting at a fairly young age right up to grandparents. We prefer it as a 3 or 4 player game as it’s a little bit more dynamic.

What you Need for Giveaway
For Giveaway you will only need one deck of cards with the jokers removed.
How to Play Giveaway Card Game
To start, the dealer deals out all of the cards. It is okay if there is a player who has more cards than the others. Players do not look at their cards, instead they leave them in a face down pile in front of them.
The goal of Giveaway is to be the first player to shed all of their cards. This is done by either building the center stacks or by placing cards on others’ discard piles.
The first player turns over her top card. If it is an ace, she places it in the middle of the playing area. She would then be able to turn over the next card in her stack. If that card happens to be the 2 of the same suit as the ace she just placed, she could place it on the ace and take the next card.
On the other hand, if her card is anything other than an ace, she places beside her draw pile, face up, and her turn is over.
Now it is the second player’s turn. He turns over his top card. As before, if it’s an ace he places it in the middle. However, he has another possibility. If his card is one card higher or lower than the first player’s discard then he can place it on her pile. When placing cards on others’ piles, you do not need to match the suit. Therefore, if she had the 9 of hearts he could put any 8 or any 10 on her pile.
When a player is unable to place his card, he puts it on his discard pile. When he can play, he keeps taking the top card of his draw pile.
If you have a card that can be played on the center stacks, you must play it.
When a player takes the last card of her draw pile, if she can place it she may but her turn is over. She leaves her discard pile face up. When it is her turn again, she then turns over the pile to make her new draw pile.
To recap, the center piles go from ace to king and are suit specific. Players can place cards on others’ discard piles as long as they are one higher or lower than the one on top.
