If you live in a place where its snows you know that it can be hard to get the whole family outside for fresh air and exercise. These Minute to Win it Winter Edition games make outdoor time in the snow fun for everyone.

Supplies Needed
This list is for all the Winter Minute to Win It Games.
Good winter gear for everyone – good waterproof mittens or gloves
Lots of snow
Stop watch or phone with timer
Ice Cubes
Spray bottle with water and a few drops of food coloring
Small toys that have been frozen into ice cubes
Baseball bat
Three ice cubes with a drop of food coloring in one color and three ice cubes in a second color
Colored ice cubes – many
Bird seed – if snow isn’t right for snowman building
Winter Minute to Win It Game: Mini Snowman
How many mini snowmen can you build in one minute? Everyone has one minute to see how many 5” snowmen they can make. Each snowman must have a bottom, middle and top ball to count and must be at least 5” tall. The player who built the most wins!

Don’t have snowman snow? Use bird seed to “draw” as many mini snowman as you can on the snow. The same rules apply and the birds will love you!

Snow Minute to Win It Game: Snowball fight
For this game, you need to make an odd number of snowballs. 23 is a good number. Next, you need to designate a fight area. This could be a deck or a square that is marked out. Place the snowballs in the middle of the area.
Players start at the back of their sides and on go, run to the middle and try to launch as many of the snowballs onto the other players side. Snowballs can be picked up off a player’s area and thrown onto the other side. At the end of one minute, play stops and the snowballs are counted. Snowballs that are outside the playing area are not counted. The player with the most snowballs in their competitor’s area wins.
For more than two players, play two at a time and record the amounts. In case of a tie, the two tied players face off in a showdown.

Not snowman snow? You can use ice cubes – with the rule that the ice must slide on the ground and not be thrown. Or you can use other objects such as balls or balled up socks. Don’t forget to dry out the socks afterwards!
Minute to Win It Winter Edition Game: Target Practice
To set up this game, take the spray bottle with the colored water in it and “draw” a target in the snow. Next, stand a few feet away from the target. Then you have one minute to throw a snowball as close to the target as you can. Closest player to the middle wins.
Winter Minute to Win It Game: Mount Everest
You will need to move to a snow hill for this game. A snowbank will work just find but make sure that it’s safe to climb and not near any traffic. How many times can you climb the snow hill and come back down in a minute? The player who climbs the most is the winner.

Snow Minute to Win It Game: Ice Stack
For this Minute to Win It Winter edition game, you need 5 ice cubes per player. Next, you have one minute to stack as many ice cubes as you can. The ice cubes must stay for at least three seconds to be considered. The player who stacks the most, wins!

Winter Minute to Win It Game: Snow basketball
You’ll need a bucket for this game. If you’re playing as a team, have one team member hold a bucket. The second team mate stats a few feet apart and then has one minute to see how many snowballs he can gently toss into the bucket. The teammate holding the bucket is free to move the bucket around to catch the snowballs.
If there are no teams, then set the bucket up and have players stand a few feet away. Players then have one minute to see how many snowballs they can get into the bucket.
The player or team with the most baskets wins.
Minute to Win It Winter Edition Game: Ice Rescue
For this game, a bit of preparation is necessary. Find some small, plastic toys and freeze them in an ice cube tray. If they float, fill the ice cube tray to only halfway with the toy on top. Once the water is frozen, fill the tray the rest of the way up and freeze again. This will make sure that the toy is good and stuck in the ice. Make one for each player or team.
Next, players race to be the first to free their toy from the ice, using any method (other than hot water).

Snow Minute to Win It Game: Snow Baseball
In this minute to win it winter edition game, players throw snowballs up in the air and then try to hit it with a baseball bat. The player who hits the most snow baseballs is the winner.
Winter Minute to Win It Game: Curling bocce
For this game, you need to do a little preparing ahead of time. Fill 7 ice cube slots. Next, add a drop or two of food colouring to three of the slots. Then, add a drop or two of a different colour to three other slots. Leave the 7th slot free of colour. Freeze the ice cubes solid.
To play, you need a smooth surface. A deck or an upside down sled that is level or even a side walk will work.
Decide who will slide the jack—the colour-free ice cube. That person stands at marked line and slides the clear ice cube down the smooth surface. Next, from the marked line, the first player slides their coloured ice down the surface and tries to get as close as possible to the jack as he can. Then the second player goes and tires to do the same. The player whose ice is furthest away gets to slide the next ice followed by the other player who slides the last ice. The player who is the closest to the jack is the winner.

Snow Minute to Win It Game: Search and Rescue
In this game, you need lots of coloured ice cubes. Someone then buries the ice cubes in snow. Mark the area where the cubes will be hidden in. Next, players have one minute to search and rescue as many ice cubes as they can. The player who finds the most ice cubes, wins.
