What Are Don’t Be Last Summer Games?

These summer party games are great for a group of any size. The idea is simple: players compete in fun, silly games of various skills. There’s only one rules: Don’t Be Last. When you are the player who finishes the task last, you are eliminated. The game continues until there is one last player who is the winner.

There are three types of challenges: individual, team and backwards. Most of the challenges are individual. You read the challenge and then players try their best to complete it. The last player is eliminated. They receive a card saying there number for extra fun.

The team challenges are great to start with if you have extra large groups. The teams will compete as a team and the last team to complete the challenge is out of the game. Again, they are each given an exit number.

Last are the backwards challenges. These games are played where the first player to fail at the challenge is eliminated.

The games use items that you should have on hand. In case you don’t have exactly what is called for you can substitute with anything that you have or that matches the game. For example, if the game calls for flip flops, you could use slides or another type of loose-fitting shoe. Just make sure that the game is even for all players.

Do I have to Play all of the games?

No, you can play as many games as you like. If you have less than 25 people, then choose your favorite challenge and leave the others to play on a different game night.

It is a good idea to have someone or more than one someones serve as the judges. The judges should watch carefully as speed and precision are important. Afterall, you don’t want a tie.

The idea of the game is to have fun and connect with your friends and family. Try not to take things too seriously.

Don’t Be Last Summer Game: Flip Flop Fling

For this game, you will need a flip flop for each player and one or more hula hoops depending on how many players you have. Each player will stand at the same distance from their hoop with one flip flop on their foot. When the judge says go, each player has to fling their flip flop into the hula hoop using only their feet. If they miss, they must gather their flip flop and start at the line again. The player who has the last flip flop not in the hoop is eliminated.

If the challenge is too easy or too hard to judge, place the hoop further from the fling line and restart.
