Stocking Stuffers for Board Game Lovers

Many would say that the best part of Christmas morning is a stocking full with marvelous little treasures. But as a stocking stuffer it be hard to find things to stuff. Luckily, if you have a board game lover on your list, we have the perfect thing.

We’ve put together our list of great games that make the best stocking stuffers—fun, family friendly and won’t break the bank.

Games are the perfect stocking stuffers as they are small enough to fit but take up plenty of room. Plus games have great benefits, make lasting memories and can be played all year long.

Stocking Stuffer Card Games

Anomia

Anomia (CAD: Anomia) is a unique trivia game where you don’t have to know much trivia. Speed and observation will do you more good in this game more than knowing that Nova Scotia is Canada’s largest Christmas tree exporter. (True fact.) You can read the full review of Anomia here.

Letter from Santa

Spot It

There’s no trivia needed at all for this game of speed and observation. Spot It (CAD: Spot It) has players racing to find the picture matches. This is a family favorite of ours. We can read the full Spot It review to see why. It also makes our list of Easy, fast, fun games to play at Christmas.

Blink

The game can be over in a Blink (CAD: Blink) of an eye. Similar to Spot It, players race to make matches but either with the colour, symbol or number. This stocking stuffer game is addictive in the best way. You can see why this is one of my favorites here.

Love Letter

Another family favorite. Love Letter (CAD: Love Letter) comes with only a few cards but is challenging to win and can turn on a dime. Read the full review of Love Letter before stuffing it in a stocking.

Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza

This is a crazy game (CAD: TCGCP) that combines the fun of the card game Spoons with fun actions. This game will please just about anyone. You can read the full review here.

UNO

If you’re like us, you have a well loved UNO (CAD:Uno) deck already. With so many ways to play, you can see why. Maybe it’s time to freshen up the deck. You can get a deck that caters to just about any interest—Unicorns, Harry Potter, Frozen, Super Mario, Minecraft, Marvel and even The Office and many more.
And if your deck is in good shape, you can look at adding to the fun with Uno Flip, Uno Dare, or Dos made from the makers of Uno.

Monopoly Deal

Monopoly is another game that you might already have. But it doesn’t fit in a stocking! However, Monopoly Deal (CAD:Monopoly Deal) does.

Rook

Rook (CAD:Rook) is another classic game that is perfect for a stocking stuffer. This is a fast moving game that makes you think to take tricks with some twists and turns in it that can change everything.

Wizard

Saboteur

Go Low

In the card game Go Low (CAD: Go Low), players only get to see half their cards. They swap out cards trying to get the lowest score.

Hit The Deck

If you like Crazy 8’s then you’ll like Hit the Deck (CAD: Hit the Deck). It has similar play but with lots of action. Read the rules before stuffing a stocking with it.

Eye Found It

Dutch Blitz

This stocking stuffer game has been on the bestselling list for years. You can get the original Dutch Blitz (CAD: Dutch Blitz) or the expansion pack it also has an expansion pack. A family favorite of many.

Clue Card Game

The classic whodunit game Clue goes to the cards in this game based on the original. It was fun in the bottom of the stocking with Clue Card Game (CAD: Clue Card Game).

Phase 10

This stocking stuffer comes in both Phase 10 (CAD: Phase 10) card and dice form. Strategy and luck are the name of game for this stocking stuffer game.

Pizza Party

What’s more fun than a Pizza Party (CAD: Pizza Party)? A dice game where you roll to match toppings and create a pizza! And no one thought you could stuff a pizza into a stocking.

Story Cubes

Stuff a stocking with the gift of imagination with Story Cubes (CAD: Story Cubes). Roll the dice and make the story a great game for families.

LCR

Left, Center, Right—(CAD: LCR)—may be the easiest dice game to play ever. But despite the simply game play, players of all ages will love to play this game. It come in many colours so you can find everyone’s favorite. You can learn to play LCR here.

Tenzi

Qwixx

Bananagrams

If you love words then the tile game Bananagrams (CAD: Bananagrams) will fill your stocking and your mind with fun.

Dominos

The classic game of Dominos (CAD: Dominos) comes in many sizes and forms—many that fit nicely into a stocking. Get coloured ones, tiny ones and even a tray to hold them.

Dog Pile or Cat Stax

30 Second Mysteries

Nothing is more though provoking than a mysteries. 30 Second Mysteries (CAD: 30 Seconds) comes in a couple types. These games are packed full of brain-using fun. One of the mysteries isn’t how to fit it into a stocking. It fits quite nicely.

Iota

This stocking stuffer game is so small that it even has the word teeny-weeny on the box! Match colours, shapes and numbers into a grid in the game Iota (CAD: Iota).

There are many travel sixed games that not only fit in your car and suitcase but the bottom of your stockings too.

Guess Who (CAD:Guess Who) stuffed a great game into the stocking. You, that’s who. Another classic the travel size will be a hit with school aged kids.

Qwirkle

Similar to Dominos, Qwirkle (CAD: Qwirkle) this game is its own as players match colours and shapes into the pile.

Things that fit in a stocking… The Things (CAD: Things) the travel game. This fun guessing game is sure to be a hit.

For the board game lover who has every game, there are some fun stocking stuffers for them too.

Coloured Dice

Everyone has a favorite colour but not everyone has dice in their favorite colour. Different colored dice (CAD: coloured dice) make it easy to keep track of turns and add to the fun.

Dice Trays

Keep those dice in control with a fabric or leather dice tray (CAD: dice tray). To fit them into a stocking, gently roll it and stuff it.

Playing Cards

Playing cards (CAD: cards make the perfect stocking stuffers for game lovers. There are so many beautiful playing cards out there that there’s sure to be one that the stocking owner will love — gold ones, Harry Potter, animals, even pizza shaped ones.
