Eye Found It
When my kids were little, we had two different versions of this game and they loved both of them. So much so they refused to let it go. In our games, there’s a giant game board that spreads out over the floor but the game has been revamped to be a card game that will fit just about anywhere—making a perfect travel game and a great gift. Shady Pets
We have a lot of mystery lovers in this house so when we saw the Shady Pets mystery card game we knew we had to give it a try. This game is a little different from the regular who done it games. First, its theme is that there are some misbehaving pets—no one dies in this game. Next, there are four mystery pets to find for each game so the fun doesn’t stop once you find the answer to one mystery. The cards are so cute featuring different animal types with tiny sunglasses on them. I just wish we had found this one long before we did. You can read the full review here.

Hold on to your hats. Things are about to get louder and faster. In the Ruckus card game, players are trying to collect as many of the silly cards as they can. Pit
This is the oldest game on the list—more than 100 years old in fact—and still a complete hit. Players are trading their shares in the stock market, trying to get a monopoly on something. Card Game Gifts for Teens and Adults
Let’s slow things down a little because although I love a good chaotic, loud, silly game, I also like games that make you think and strategize.
Love Letter
This tiny game has just 16 cards to it but don’t let that fool you. This game is incredibly well thought out. Each card can take out any other card if played at the right time. You can think you have it in the bag and then wham, someone plays a card that you didn’t see coming. We’ve played hundreds of times and it never gets old. The best part is that the game is just as much fun with two players as it is with four. To see why this game has stolen our hearts, read the review here.

Five Crowns
The Five Crowns game is another one of our favorites. Although we listed it in games for teens and adults, players as young as five can enjoy this game. The game is a rummy style one that increases in cards for each round with the wild card changing each round. Warning, this game is addictive. Check out the review here.

Phase 10

Pickles to Penguins
This is another board game gone board less. In this word game, you are trying to make the most connections between cards as you can to be the first to play all of your word cards. We first played this game in a library—big mistake. This is not a quiet game but it is really fun and would make a great gift. Read the review here.

Fluxx
Now this game is one of ever-changing rules. The basic game is easy, collect cards to achieve the goal. Except the goal changes and how many cards you can have in your hand changes too. It’s a messy pile of fun. The best part is that it comes in many different themes—pirates, science, Marvel and I just saw a cat theme! We reviewed the Holiday one here if you want to check it out.

Saboteur
This card game is a little different. Players are miners trying to borrow their way across the mine with cards but there is a saboteur in the mix! You’ll have to figure out who the mole is and find a way around them to get to the gold first to win. The best part is that you can play with lots of players and have more than one saboteur. Check out the review here it’s a digging good time.

Joke-R-Ummy
This has to be our most played card game of all time. Each player has a different mission and will need to collect cards to make the mission. Hurry you’ll need to finish your mission before someone plays all their cards or you’ll fall behind. This game is only available in Canada but it is very similar to the Sticks card game. We have everything you need for Sticks in our Family Game Shelf shop so that you can have just as much fun on game night as we do! You can read the Jok-R-Ummy review here.
