Few characters are as recognizable as the Grinch. All you need are some green fur, yellow eyes and an evil smile. This is made easier with a great selection of sweaters, pants, socks and pajamas. Canadians can see all things Grinch wear here.

If wearing green is not your thing, you can cozy up in a blanket with a Grinch pillow or two.

You could even go all the way and get a Grinch suit—with or without the Santa suit. The possibilities are endless.

Feast, Feast, Feast

What party would be complete without food? We don’t have who-hash or roast beast on the list but we’ve put together some crumbs that are more than big enough for a mouse.

Pull Apart Tree

You can practice your Grinch skills by pulling apart the tree and stuffing the pieces in your mouth. (Of course that is jut poetic license. Please eat responsibly.) You can find the directions in our Hallmark Movie Party! Check out the Pretzel trees too.

Second, you could make sandwich sugar cookies. Start with a round cookie cutter–2 per cookie. In the top cookie, cut out a heart in the middle and sprinkle with green sugar. Grinch Party Games

Of course we have to have games. They’re the best way to make noise, noise, noise, NOISE!

Present Drop

For this Grinch game, you will need some small present. (Snack sized cholate bars wrapped up work great.) You will also need a gift bag and a chair.

Pretend to be the Grinch stealing presents and tossing them in his sack. To do this, players stand on the chair and try to drop the present into the bag. The player who gets the most in the bag is the winner.

Ribbons, Tags, Packages, Boxes and Bags

For this Grinchy game, you will need a tray, a tea towel, and a collection of holiday items, about 20.

First, place all the holiday items on the tray. Next, cover everything with the tea towel.

To play, everyone gathers around the tray. Next, the towel is removed. Players then have one minute to observe the items. At the end of the minute, the towel is replaced.

Next, there are two options.

The first option is to give players one minute to write down everything they remember seeing on the tray. The player with the most correct items is the winner.

Second, the tray is taken out of the room and one item is “snatched” or taken off the tray. Everything else stays the same. Next, the towel is put back on. When the tray is brought back into the room and the towel taken off, the first player to call out what’s missing is the winner.

Candy Cane Snatch

For this game you will need a big pile of candy canes and a cup.

First, place the candy canes in a big pile. Next, give the first player a single candy cane. He then has one minute to see how many candy canes he can put in the cup—using only the original candy cane.

To make it more of a challenge, have players use their non-dominate hand to hold the candy cane. Or for more Grinchy fun, have players wear a fuzzy green Grinch glove.

Who-Pass

For our last Grinch Party game, you will need to wrap a small gift.

While watching the show, every time the word “who” is said, the player with the present passes it to another player. The player who has it at the end of the show gets to unwarp it.

Similarly, this game could be played snowball style. First, warp little gifts like candy in layers of saranwrap—making some layers with candy, some empty. Every time the word who is heard, the player who has the ball unwraps a layer and then passes the snowball—keeping anything that might be in that layer.

Grinch Party Crafts
